Past Exhibition 2011: Figures Seen & Unseen

Figures Seen & Unseen features five Montgomery County artists (Chris Chernow, Nina Chung Dwyer, Katherine Janus Kahn, Nancy McNamara, Anthony Meserindino) working in a variety of complimentary styles and mediums as they explore the human figure through self-portraits, wearable objects, three-dimensional plaster torsos, and work inspired by the terracotta army sculptures in China and by highly decorated weapons and armor from the European tradition.  These artists were selected in a juried process based on the excellence of their work.  The exhibition explores the power of individuals and how that power is perceived.
